Passage

After collecting  some old tatty books from secondhand shops I had the intension of ripping them up and making collages from them, but on closer inspection these books seemed to carry more that one story. I found letters, inscriptions, photographs, notes and messages some dating back over 100 years. I decided to photography them instead and create a digital collage using layers from the images.

This project took on a life of its own creating these obscure abandoned landscapes and seascapes, a strange surreal world created from pages and scrap metal. There is still an element of memory just from a completely different perspective. Creating a new story to carry the past through the present into the future.
